Many Vehicles

Leo loves to draw all kinds of vehicles. The Boats in Maine is inspired by his favorite spot Perkins Cove, in Ogunquit, ME. Last summer, we left a framed copy for the Captain of the Silver Lining Sailboat, the biggest boat in Leo's drawing.  Drawn during the pandemic, it helped Leo remember one of his happiest places.

My Boat Picture is special for many reasons. It was drawn over multiple days during a visit to his grandparents in New Jersey. And, it is enormous, covering an entire wall, using multiple sheets of paper. Leo drew pictures of many different boats such as sail boats, tugboats, police boats, and ferries with cars. A friend's son counted, and there are actually 72 boats total! We love discovering new details every time we look closely.

Finally, we love to see the progress Leo has made with drawing cars. Traffic Jam was the way he initially drew cars--so many and so fast--almost driven (no pun intended) to get them out of his head. But his more recent iterations are more refined and really showcase his attention to detail.
